Here’s your chance to be a part of our vibrant Athlos community, but remember – timing is everything! To ensure the best opportunity for your child to join Athlos for the upcoming school year, make sure to submit your application before the eagerly awaited lottery on February 5, 2025. This is your ticket to securing a spot in our educational family.
Don’t miss out! Mark your calendars and get your application in before February 5, 2025. After this date, applications received will be placed on a waitlist, and availability may be limited.
Attention, current Athlos students! You’re already a valued member of our Athlos family, and there’s no need to reapply. You’ll automatically continue your exciting journey with us into the next school year as long as you complete your Intent to Return form. These will be emailed to current Athlos students some time in mid-December.

Enrollment Policy

Enrollment & Lottery Policy

Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish follows federal and state laws, regulations, guidelines, and practices regarding enrollment of all students. The school shall not discriminate in its admissions or enrollment policies based on race, color, religion, gender, national or ethnic origin, disability, intelligence level as ascertained by an intelligence quotient exam, special needs as defined in IDEA, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. The school will comply with all state requirements regarding student age at enrollment for kindergarten and first grade.

Conditions for Enrollment

According to Louisiana state law, a child must be 5 years old by or on September 30, 2024, in order to be eligible for kindergarten in the 2024–2025 school year.

Enrollment Preference

Enrollment preference will be given as follows:

  1. First to siblings of enrolled pupils and foster children of that pupil’s parent/guardian(s);
  2. Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish is required to give enrollment preference to and to maintain an At-Risk student population in accordance with state law.

In compliance with Bulletin 126 §2709 regarding enrollment lottery and waitlist:

  1. If the total number of eligible students applying to Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish exceeds the number of available seats, applicants shall be admitted based on an admissions lottery from among the total number of eligible applicants.
  2. Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish shall use a lottery for the selection of students in order to reach its maximum capacity and to determine the order in which students will be placed on a waitlist.
  3. Applicants shall be placed on the waitlist in the order in which they were selected in the school’s lottery or in the order in which they applied if the application was submitted following the school’s application period. If an opening occurs, selection from the waitlist shall begin with the first applicant on the waitlist.
  4. Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish shall maintain its waitlist throughout each school year. Any student admitted to the school must be an applicant on the wait list, if a wait list exists.
